I think I'm ready to go home. Not that I'm not enjoying my honeymoon immensely... it's just that I want to go back home, get started on name change stuff, and start all the little projects I've got in mind that need to be done. I need to clean out the closets again and get rid of a ton of stuff, and Bryan and I need to sort through our pots, pans, and tupperware to decide what we're keeping, what we're tossing, and what we're going to put in our garage sale. I also want to see my fishies again - I miss them. I know Joe's taking good care of them, just like I take good care of his Pomeranians, but I miss my little fishlets. I'd also like to sleep in my own bed again - the last time I slept in my bed, I wasn't married. XD

I do love it here - I think this summer is the first one I've been up here more than twice. (I think we've been up three times, and may come up once more before tourist season ends) We've just been so busy, running around so much, and I've run out of energy. I just want to lay around on the couch, set the Monster Keurig up next to me, and drink coffee all day. (Then again, I kinda tend to feel like this when summer's close to ending. I took one look at my schedule for the fall and I got exhausted just seeing it.) Today we're supposed to go to Great Escape, and I just don't have the energy. (Also, it's rainy and foggy and yucky out.) We're going anyway, and we may not stay the whole day. Part of me doesn't want to go, because I know if I get too tired I'll be a mope and ruin the trip. I don't want to be a mope, yanno?

Meh. I should finish my coffee and go get dressed. We're probably heading out soonish...

the highlights OF my weekend (lord, I shouldn't type when I'm half awake and very sick)

-went to the farmers market with bry. watched him sell a lot of wine. packed the car and went to lake luzerne. read a lot. slept well.

-woke up with a sore throat. went to lake george. found out that the fireworks cruises were sold out. found out that our favorite restaurant has a $50 limit to sit on the deck for dinner. ended up spending two hours guarding a table in the heat, waiting for fireworks, with an increasing headache. beautiful fireworks. not so beautiful migrane. bry drove me home while i hung my head out the window, in case i had to throw up. passed out when i got home. think i had heat exhaustion.

-ran around, did a little cleaning, felt a bit sicker. went to the mall in glens falls. had a campfire, drank wine and ate marshmallows.

-woke up really sick. laid in bed and wheezed for a bit. went downstairs and wheezed. laid on the couch for pretty much the entire day. bry drove us home, and i couldn't get comfy because i ached so much. i think i have the flu.

-last night my friend michelle told me to call into work. so did my other co-worker, katie. brittany, another of my co-workers, sanitized her desk again upon learning i was sick. i am in bed right now, wishing walmart was not sold out of air conditioners, and wishing it didn't hurt to hack crap up.

EDIT: We've now got an air conditioner! We had to drive out all the way to Massena to get it, but we got one, and since it was a floor model they took $25 off the price! I am now basking in the cool breeze of the AC. It's really helping me feel better - I don't think the heat's been helping my cold/flu/whatever at all. Now, time to download some old Law and Order episodes if I can, and work on feeling better. (If I don't feel better tomorrow, I may go make an appointment at student health, and see if they can figure out what this is and how to make it go away.)

Wow. I can hardly believe it's 90something degrees out. I will probably wilt and die the instant I leave the bedroom, haha.

Luzerne again tomorrow. YES. Two weekends out of this town? YESSS. Four day weekend? I COULD DIE OMG

So, Bryan started his new job yesterday - working as a wine seller for the Thousand Islands winery. I told him to buy me a bottle of North Country Red - he gets a 30% discount. It really makes no sense for me to go to the Potsdam Farmers Market, go to the wine booth, and give Bryan money that's technically already his, haha. Only thing that sucks about it (for both of us) is that he gets home from one farmers market at 10 pm (it's a late one that's two hours away), and then has to leave for the next one at 4:30 am! I saw him for maybe an hour last night before I fell asleep, and he left before I rolled out of bed at 6. Oh well, he can have a nice big nap when he gets home!

I had two strange dreams last night. I guess sleep deprivation does that do you. Anyway, the first dream was that apparently I'd had a baby. (For those of you who don't know me too well, I am absolutely terrified of childbirth and what it will do to my body - I already have issues with my body, I don't need more. I also don't think I'd be a very fit mother - I'm a great babysitter, but then, I don't have to be the parent and it's only for a few hours.) Bryan and I were trying to figure out how to take care of it. It had curly red hair, which could entirely happen, because Bryan's part Irish. It was a cute baby, I guess, but still. Yeeep. I commend all you mothers out there who have had children, and hope you don't hate me too much because I don't want kids of my own. (Maybe when I'm a little more stable I'll be a foster parent!) But anyway, back to the dream. Bryan actually tried to breastfeed the baby. XD I looked and him and said "No, you're doin' it wrong," and took the baby and fed her myself. That's the last part I remember.

Dream number two was infinitely less scary. Mom got me a HUGE Keurig coffee maker, a red one to match my tiny one! Apparently Bry, Ruthie, and I were all at Mom's, and Ruthie thought Mom got it for both of us. We both tore into the box and started reading the instruction manual, which was really complicated, and Ruthie's planning what coffees we'll make. I tell Bryan we can give my little Keurig to his dad, and he said "Let's not worry about that now." Then Mom comes in and tells Ruthie that the coffee maker is just for me, and she runs off crying. Oh lordy.

Wedding planning is going along well. My co-worker, Brittany, brought me some Precious Moments stuff she used for her wedding! Which is nice, since it matches our wedding invitations. If Bryan's parents were going to be up north for the weekend, I'd bring it all with me so Kathy could see. She'd love it! Brittany gave me a few helium balloons, a cake topper, a little banner, and a whole bunch of bubble stuff bottles. She also gave me a set of the napkins she used - they had cute little Precious Moments designs on them. :D I am amazed at how well this wedding is going, and how little we're having to spend on it. So far, all Bryan and I have spent on it is $90 for my dress. The ceremony site is free, I think the Mayor will marry us for free, Bry's parents are paying for the reception, we're getting inexpensive rings with the promise that someday we'll upgrade them, and Bryan's wearing his suit for the wedding. And getting him to wear a purple shirt and tie to match the wedding color will be no problem at all, because he has a million purple shirts and at least three purple ties. XD I think that's why we picked it. In fact, when I was suggesting wedding colors to him, I even said "Purple like your shirts!" XD I think this weekend will be spent cranking out wedding ideas and stuff. I'm half tempted to bring my printer with me so I can actually get some stuff printed out. We'll see.

Anyhow, I should get on with my morning internet browsing, since I have to get ready for work eventually. I'll see if I can bring my laptop and leech wireless from someplace, otherwise I'll try and post on my phone. :D
purpleparadox: (WTF?)
Short update, since I have to leave for work in a bit:

Babysitting last night was FUN. Julie ended up giving me money to take them out for pizza with, and we walked downtown to Little Italy and had dinner. After dinner, we walked back to their house, and they scrounged up some money for ice cream (Elizabeth came downstairs with a $20 bill, and Elwood managed to find four dollars in quarters XD) and we swung by my apartment to get some Super Mario Brothers Super Show before getting some ice cream. All while we were walking, the kids kept talking excitedly and I felt bad when they'd interrupt each other - they love to talk, and need to learn to take turns. That was almost the only annoying part about the evening! After that, we settled in and watched Mario in the living room... for three and a half hours. I think the kids expected their parents to be home at 9:30, and when 10:30 pm rolled around Elwood called his dad and said "Where are you? We've been waiting for three hours for you!" And their dad came home pretty quickly after that. I got home at 11. O_o Oh well. I had fun!

Going to Lake Luzerne tonight. Bryan's parents are already on their way up there. I can't wait to get out of here.
